Motorcycle Technician / Mechanic – Job role.

 

We are looking for a talented mechanic to join our growing team!

 

Job Description

The new motorcycle technician will be able to be part of our small talented workshop team - They will essentially be able to take on servicing, and mechanical repairs to all makes of motorbike and turn their hand to a wide range of jobs. 

The role could potentially give the right person, the chance to work on our custom builds, and to become an influencing part of each project. 

For the right person, this job could develop into a very integral part of our expanding business.

 

The new applicant would have lots of assistance to start with, and be brought up to speed on all the processes/systems we work with, introduced to any brands they are not familiar with and our way of working. As part of the workshop team they will be working directly with the existing crew, however they would have the chance to use their initiative and quickly begin to manage their own role hopefully becoming a master in the areas they look after.

 

The role initially will have a short probationary period, but should quickly develop into a full time role for the correct candidate.

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

  •  All servicing requirements

  •  PDI Checks

  •  Test rides of customer motorcycles

  •  General mechanical work

  •  Replacing parts & fitting accessories to customer requirements

  •  Diagnosing problems / engine tuning (training will be provided on relevant software) 

  •  Inspection and repair work

  •  Basic fabrication skills

  •  Custom build work

  •  Any other work required for the operation of the business

Experience

The correct person for the job would essentially have: Motorcycle mechanical experience, preferably with relevant certificates, however for the right applicant training will be provided. 

 

Our business can cover all makes & models of motorcycles however previous experience with Custom bikes, Harley Davidson, or Triumph motorcycles would be beneficial as per our specialities. 

 

Any additional skills such as welding, fabrication, electrical experience etc. would be a bonus. The successful candidate must have a wide range of experience with motorbikes and be happy to work within a tight knit team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for motorcycles and they must have a get go attitude and be happy to begin to manage their role without assistance. 

The applicant must have a full driving licence including full motorcycle licence and be able to make their own way to & from work, sometimes requiring dropping parts / parcels to suppliers. 

 

Education

A broad previous education is not necessarily as important to us here, however common sense, initiative, positive attitude, and someone happy to keep up with our pace is vital.

 

Working conditions

The new mechanic will be very active each day, and jump between multiple tasks, services and general workshop duties under the guidance of the workshop manager.

 

Dress Code

The new member of our team with be given a range of Poulson Creative clothing to make sure they represent the brand each day, safety boots are essential.

 

Hours

The job is available IMMEDIATELY, Initially the applicant will be required to work full time under a probationary period, however we expect them very quickly to take on more responsibility and within a matter of weeks can become a full long term part of the team.

 

Pay

Final pay will be decided once we have met the correct applicant and understand how much they are able to take on, however this will be a self-employed role paid hourly to start with.
